Welcome to our blog part 2 or the day after #Kalendergate

Soooooo...after the launch of the blog the day before yesterday was brought forward a little for a given (and necessary) reason, I would now like to 'say' a few general words of welcome :)

H E L L O W O R L D

The blog has the subtitle 'Nerds at work' - that pretty much says it all ;) First and foremost, this is supposed to be about us, the getDigital team, my colleagues and my two bosses (who have been holed up in their office for weeks for programming purposes and of whom only Philipp had to give a brief sign of life yesterday, as luck would have it. At least we now know for sure that at least Philipp hasn't starved to death in there yet).

When you buy something from an online store, you usually don't know anything about the people you're buying from - which is a bit of a shame. In an offline store, you at least know the cashiers, occasionally exchange a few sentences, talk to a real person and not an NPC when you need to complain about the shirt you bought and maybe you've even seen the boss walking through the store.

The stupid thing about offline stores, however, is that you have to leave the house (which I personally often don't think is so great, especially in the colder half of the year).

We now want to try to create the perfect synthesis of both (a lofty goal, oh yes. But the others can do it!) When you buy from us, you can sit comfortably on the sofa and still know who you're dealing with. We want you to get to know us, ideally like us, of course, and feel good about investing your money in our gadgets and shirts.

Through our social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) and what we consider to be very responsive customer service, we've always done everything we can to be as close to you as possible - and I think that's gone down well with you too - but we think we can do even better. That's how the idea for the blog came about :)

We want to entertain you with anecdotes from our everyday life, with stories that the company writes, with personal information about us that you won't get from any other online store and with everything else that's going on in the nerd and geek world that might be of interest to you. The fact that this doesn't always have to be positive is something we experienced live yesterday when this (I like to say 'stupid') calendar almost caused our Twitter timeline to collapse ;) But that's also part of it and as you can see, we also face up to the more unpleasant things (apart from tidying up desks and offices, but that's something else too.^^)
